What is Project SHIFT?

Project SHIFT is our 15-hour Social Innovation Leadership Program designed for Grade 8–9 girls (including non-binary and queer students).

Participants work in small, mentored teams to:

  • Explore real-world social challenges
  • Apply design thinking to create practical solutions
  • Build confidence, leadership, and critical problem-solving skills
  • Present their ideas through a public showcase.

The program shifts learning from memorisation to thinking deeply, questioning assumptions, and taking action.

How Project SHIFT works?

Project SHIFT is delivered through 10 interactive, hands-on sessions supported by structured mentorship.

Participants progress through a clear learning journey:

  • Introduction to social innovation and team building
  • Higher-order thinking
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Design Thinking in action
  • Idea evaluation and refinement
  • Communicating solutions with confidence and impact

The program concludes with a Public Showcase, where participants present their solutions to peers, educators, and community members.
